So.. I lied

Remember the last post? I said Canada is not that cold? NOT TRUE!!! at all!!!!!

Seriously?? -16 ?? I have never felt something like this. I feel like I am living in the North Pole. 

I stepped outside for one second, literally one second, and I regretted it so much! 

My poor baby SJ has been sick for a few weeks now.. I mean who wouldn't get sick in this weather?

My baby stayed home almost all week and has been so cranky about it.

And again, we had a freezing cold day with lots of snow.

I tried to come up with new things to entertain my baby since it seems like he is sick and tired of all of his toys.

I made a little fort in the living room with a blanket, couple of cushions, the sofa and a chair; he absolutely loved it! He kept pointing at the blanket saying he wants it more! (I think he was telling me to shake the blanket more) He was giggling, laughing and screaming!

We hope tomorrow it gets a little warmer... more like, a lot warmer.

Everyone has been asking me what the weather in Canada has been like?

Ever since I moved to Canada, the #1 question I've been asked by family and friends are... "What's the weather like in Canada? Is it soooooooo cold? I bet it's so cold!" Yes, it's true, it is cold and there is snow but it's not as bad as I or anyone else thought it to be. Today's temperature was -2 Celsius and we got an inch of snow.  I can't speak for the rest of the country, but I know most of Canada gets a lot of snow and gets really cold. When we just moved into our house, that was the most snow I have seen in Canada so far. That's my poor husband shoveling... and I was waiting in the car, taking a picture of him. 

And for the last few weeks, the weather was warm enough that all the snow melted away.

Happy belated New Years!

Happy belated New Year! Sorry it took forever for me to update what has been going on with our life lately! So, first thing first! We moved to CANADA! We are slowly settling in (always harder with a baby... or do I just have the perfect excuse to be a little lazy about it? ;) hehe) We have been using our iPhone hotspot to get an Internet connection and finally we got real Internet today! Thank goodness. All the furniture is in the right place but a little bit more personalizing could be done around the house. We are adjusting to Canada real fast. The biggest thing for now is... We are recycling literally EVERYTHING! and the weather, of course. We are now used to seeing it snow the whole entire day. We love living in a house instead of an apartment. True.. it needs a lot of work but we feel grown up. I will take it slow to explain our life in more detail. There has been so much going on in the last two months... Breathe, breathe.. I will take it slow.

Have you noticed even my baby SJ has Hanbok (Korean traditional clothes)? Yes, we successfully visited Korea. The plane ride? You will read about it soon in a different post to come. 

Anyways... So nice to be back on my own schedule and start blogging again.

We are so excited for the New Years!

Like every year we have a few goals. One big thing is to be more health conscious. We got Vitamix from Santa for Christmas and we do want to use it to make healthy food. Eus definitely needs to lose weight. His goal is to loose 15 lbs. For me, I want to use time wisely. Less internet shopping and browsing through internet and less time on the phone. For SJ, being healthy and stay as cute as he is!

Tee hee hee... we put his cousin's hairband on him. Doesn't he look so cute? I can see why people confuse him as a girl all the time now.

Happy Thanksgiving

We are still packing here! We won't be able to have a traditional Thanksgiving time with family eating yummy food, but that doesn't mean that I will forget to think about what I am thankful for...

We found THE house!

We have been looking for a house in Canada for awhile and... we finally found the house! We are so excited to move to our new house where our family will grow. I can't wait to settle in and start decorating our little space. I think I am more excited because it is a house, not a condo. Ever since I went to college, I only lived in apartments and I missed the homey feeling. My husband and I had different feelings towards houses and it was hard to find the one. But after writing down pros and cons, we came down to two houses and recently confirmed the better one for us. It has a little fenced in backyard! Yeeeeee! I can't wait to move in to the house!

Little tradition for baby SJ

Today we dropped by the shopping mall to return a few things. The mall was packed with so many people, it was just so crazy. On our way out of Nordstrom, we saw Santa! Santa was sitting in the mall! My husband told me how one of his most memorable childhood memories was meeting Santa in real life at the mall every year. My husband thought Santa literally live at the mall. Cute~ When my husband told me this, I wanted to continue the same tradition with SJ so we got in line right away.

More packing...

We are slowly starting to pack again. We stopped packing when SJ got sick and it's time to get started again. We need to stop worrying and whining and move our butt! It's unbelievable how much stuff has accumulated from this one little-body-baby. I've been living in the U.S for 8-9 years now and I moved every single year; I am pretty much the packing queen now. While packing at the same time we are busy looking for houses up in Toronto. It helps that my husband knows a bit about where to live unlike when we were looking for a place in DC. I can't believe we are leaving DC so soon. We have grown to love this city so much more than we thought we would. Especially for my husband, he came here with just one purpose; to serve. When he heard about the struggles in the inner city schools and neighborhoods, the teacher shortage, 11% literacy rate and of all the homeless kids, he felt the need to answer the call and move to Washington DC. I remember for the first few months he would come home with a broken heart. As tough as it was, it would be tougher for him to say goodbye to the kids, parents and community. For me, I would never forget this city. It was the city where I was pregnant and had my first baby, where we grew as a family tremendously. For baby SJ, this is the city where he was born. DC will always be in our hearts.
