Tummy time

We are so in love with this little cutie! Now that he is getting bigger and stronger, he has better control of his neck and legs. Can't get over him! My husband loves to exercise him every chance he gets but baby SJ doesn't seem to like it too much. So cute! All the sleepless night is forgotten. Period.

(If you are wondering what I am saying in this video, it is, "You are doing such a great job baby SJ", and "Where are you going?")

"Yes, I am getting chubbier"

Day 24
New born size diapers and outfits are too small for him now.
We had to get size 1 diapers and 0-3 months onesies for SJ last weekend- WOW!

So much personality

We can not believe that this little guy has so much character and different expressions already! Can't give him enough kisses everyday!

Still at home

Ugh... The weather being so nice, I want to go out and playyyyyy and enjoy the nice weather :(
When Eus gets home he always says, "Oh my gosh, the weather is so nice outside","All the cherry blossoms are out! You will love it!", or "Such a beautiful day today!"I guess my husband felt little bad for me, today he took a picture of spring in DC and sent it to me.

Can't wait to go out and show SJ this wonderful world.
One more week.. one more week. I should feel a lot better by next week... hopefully.

And..

This is the color that I chose (It looks different on the screen. It is similar to purple) to welcome new me and new season!
I am so proud of myself for not doing my nails for the last 10 months. I was worried that the chemicals would affect my pregnancy and the baby.

Bath time

With the weather warming up and little SJ's umbilical cord fallen off, we have been giving him a full bath, no more sponge baths. At first we were a little anxious to see how SJ would take the bath, whether he'd like it or not, so the first time we did it we were surprised to see how much he loved it and didn't freak out. We checked water temperature with thermometer several times to make sure nothing would go wrong. We slowly put SJ into his little bathtub and saw him chill out and remain calm. After giving him a bath, my husband and I had to shower because by the time we were done, we were both sweating like crazy. We didn't know how hard it would be, but at least SJ surely enjoyed it :) I love learning how to be a better mom every second.

Isn't he SOOOOOOOO cute??

What I am grateful for...

Today is my real due date. I remember waiting for March 14 to come quickly since July last year. My new hobby has been getting to know my baby in every way possible. One of my favorite part of his body is his little bum-bum, it feels so familiar because that's all I have been touching for the last 9 months! When he rolls around in his little tiny body, I think to myself, "that was you, that's how you were in my stomach!"

I am grateful for my little family. To have my own family, there are no words in any language to express the feeling. I am grateful for my wonderful husband who tries his best to help me. I am grateful for my sister who came all the way from Utah to help me. I am also grateful for my mom and mother in-law who love and care so much about SJ and give me great advice.

It seems so long ago.
The day I found out that I was pregnant.

And... Day 13
His face is keep changing. It just keep getting cutter and cutter! MUAH!

Everyday is so so special

My husband and I are definitely surprised by the number of visitors to this blog and we are now very motivated to keep up with JSP's growth. Thank you for your kind comments!

Yesterday, his umbilical cord came off! I was cleaning the room and found his umbilical cord on the floor. I felt so bad I didn't know it happened, I had to find it on the floor. Oh well, at least I took a picture of it and saved it. I am excited to give him a real bath now.

Welcome my little prince

March 2nd 2012
James Seungjin Park
Our little prince is HERE!
6.12 pounds 20 inches

The longest 12 hours in my life

March 2nd 4:21am. My water broke.
I called the doctor and she said to come to the hospital right away. I woke my husband up and said, "Honey my water broke! We gotta go to the hospital NOW". Eus spaced out for a while and looked very confused as if he didn't understand what that meant. We grabbed the hospital bag that we packed a few weeks ago and grabbed the camera that we happened to charge that very night before we fell asleep. We got into the car and headed to the hospital ignoring every red light (Eus enjoyed that a little too much). When we got to the hospital and set everything up it was 5:10am. Nurse came and told me I was actually 40% in progress.

At 7:55am, I yelled out for epidural. This button saved me. Every time I felt a strong contraction I just pushed the button to release a higher dosage of epidural for a soothing 10 minutes.

At 2:55pm, I was ready to push and at 3:38pm... We met our perfect little boy for the first time.

At the end of my labor, after having my little baby in my arm, I thought to myself, "I would love to do this all over again." Such a great blessing to have a happy and healthy baby.

Euseung wanted to add his own thoughts:
Ironically enough, the day before the baby was born, we went to the Smithsonian for our final date together. After a long day at the Smithsonian, shopping and hanging out, we came home and had dinner. While eating dessert, Sueun said,  "This was a nice last date", I thought to myself, "Why does she keep saying that? I'm going to take her out tomorrow and again some time next week and the week after that." I didn't understand why she kept thinking this would be the last when clearly we have two FULL weeks left before the baby comes. (The doctor said she'd be SHOCKED if the baby even came two DAYS before the due date let alone two WEEKS.) Before going to bed, Sueun asked me to charge the camera battery and I was a tad hesitant but thought, "If it makes her happy, why not?" I fell asleep watching a movie and thought I'd just finish it tomorrow after our date. Little did I know, 4am I'd hear Sueun calling out my name saying her water broke and our life would change, once again, forever! As much as I enjoyed blowing through all the red lights with my hazard lights on, there's no greater feeling than holding your own child and knowing he chose your family to come into the world and chose you and your wife to lead by example the journey back home.

A perfect date

I forced my husband to ask me out on an one last date our before baby's arrival. He was in the living room and called me to Face Time and asked me out on a date :) hehe
We went to the National Museum of American Indian at the Smithsonian. The weather was perfect. Spring is definitely here in DC!

At the museum they had lots of displays and we enjoyed it very much. They are such talented people!

Gotta try Indian taco at the cafe here! However, Navajo taco served at BYU's Cougar Eat is better, but it held me down from the deep craving of Navajo taco.

To end our perfect date, we walked around the National Mall holding hands for a while. (The National Mall is not an actual shopping mall that we all immediately think of, it's just an open field of grass.)
