One of the reasons I love DC so much is the amount of diversity and being exposed to different cultures. Last Friday we went to an Amish town in southern Maryland to grab a few baked goods and home grown vegetables. They grow everything at their farm and everything was organic. The Fall colors at the market were beautiful. Different shades of red, orange and yellow made the Fall season complete. There were some vegetables that I had never seen in my life. I didn't know there were so many types of pumpkin. I really appreciated their hard work. The quality of vegetables were above and beyond. We grabbed Soul food on the way back home for dinner. It was my first time trying Soul food and it was pretty good! The live band and dark lighting didn't create the ambience needed because it was irritating SJ.
Yesterday, we went to Ben's Chili Bowl. It's known for having famous people drop by such as Bill Cosby, President Obama, Wolfgang Puck, Hillary Clinton and the list goes on and on. The line was long, the food was great!
Three completely different cultures and completely different food. We are so lucky that it is easily accessible for us. And my favorite food? Ugh.... can't stop thinking about SHAKE SHACK. I know... (read my Shake Shack post if you wanna know what it is)!
