The longest 12 hours in my life

March 2nd 4:21am. My water broke.
I called the doctor and she said to come to the hospital right away. I woke my husband up and said, "Honey my water broke! We gotta go to the hospital NOW". Eus spaced out for a while and looked very confused as if he didn't understand what that meant. We grabbed the hospital bag that we packed a few weeks ago and grabbed the camera that we happened to charge that very night before we fell asleep. We got into the car and headed to the hospital ignoring every red light (Eus enjoyed that a little too much). When we got to the hospital and set everything up it was 5:10am. Nurse came and told me I was actually 40% in progress.

At 7:55am, I yelled out for epidural. This button saved me. Every time I felt a strong contraction I just pushed the button to release a higher dosage of epidural for a soothing 10 minutes.

At 2:55pm, I was ready to push and at 3:38pm... We met our perfect little boy for the first time.

At the end of my labor, after having my little baby in my arm, I thought to myself, "I would love to do this all over again." Such a great blessing to have a happy and healthy baby.

Euseung wanted to add his own thoughts:
Ironically enough, the day before the baby was born, we went to the Smithsonian for our final date together. After a long day at the Smithsonian, shopping and hanging out, we came home and had dinner. While eating dessert, Sueun said,  "This was a nice last date", I thought to myself, "Why does she keep saying that? I'm going to take her out tomorrow and again some time next week and the week after that." I didn't understand why she kept thinking this would be the last when clearly we have two FULL weeks left before the baby comes. (The doctor said she'd be SHOCKED if the baby even came two DAYS before the due date let alone two WEEKS.) Before going to bed, Sueun asked me to charge the camera battery and I was a tad hesitant but thought, "If it makes her happy, why not?" I fell asleep watching a movie and thought I'd just finish it tomorrow after our date. Little did I know, 4am I'd hear Sueun calling out my name saying her water broke and our life would change, once again, forever! As much as I enjoyed blowing through all the red lights with my hazard lights on, there's no greater feeling than holding your own child and knowing he chose your family to come into the world and chose you and your wife to lead by example the journey back home.
