Tilex saved us

I am only posting this because I know a lot of people might be suffering like we did.

If you are struggling and trying to figure out how to remove the pink residue or dark spots in the bathtub; get Tilex! Now that the weather is warming up and getting extremely humid, we have been working hard to find products that fully satisfy us, and Tile is here to stay!

I don't have pictures (of course, who takes pictures of their bathtub that has pink residue and dark spots but I am telling you it works!!)
We hit the tub with Tilex just before we leave the house and open all the windows. When we return back, it looks brand new/all gone, bye bye!!!

The Capitol

Yes, this time we did go into the U.S Capitol! (I don't know if you remember of the last time we made an attempt to go; it didn't quite work out because it was closed) My husband's little sister was visiting us and it was a great excuse to visit the Capitol. Lately we have been trying to visit DC sites as much as we could; my blog is slowly turning into a list of, 'places to go in DC'. At least now you know of a few places to see when you visit DC! Anyways, the Capitol was wayyyyyyyy cooooooooool! Definitely reserve a tour online the day before you go to take a full tour! Worth it! I won't spoil it here too much but no one should miss it when they visit DC.

And there is Brigham Young! So proud.

Here we go!

Our road trip has begun! My husband and I visited every US State and Canadian Province from the Rocky Mountains to the Pacific; except Alaska and Hawaii. To top that off, we did this entire tour of the west by car. Ever since we got married, we took road trips every break we got from school, but once we found out I was pregnant, our adventures were put on pause. Now that baby SJ is old enough to travel, we started our adventures of going on road trips! YAY!

I wanted to visit Palmyra in New York to see one of the LDS church sites and visit our friends in State College, Pennsylvania. It was perfect because State College was the half way point to Palmyra. Since 9 hours of driving would be too much for our three month old baby, it worked out perfectly; divide the long drive up and be able to visit with old friends.

The drive to State college was actually very beautiful; full, luscious green trees and the rolling Appalachian Mountains!

  It was so nice to see them. So nice of them to let us stay there. They even showed us their little garden that they have been growing. They are growing several vegetables and fruits but my favorite one was the Korean pepper; the white flower was cute and pretty.

The next morning we left for Niagara Falls. I had never been to Niagara Falls and I was pretty excited. The weather was disgustingly hot and humid; but looking at the grand falls made it a little better.

We stopped by the most amazing camp site. Fort Niagara! They even had a small water park for people to enjoy! I am definitely going to bring my family here to camp; but that'll be when SJ has siblings!

And Happy Father's day! "You are the best daddy in this world and I want to be just like you, daddy" says, baby SJ

On Sunday, after church we visited the temple. It was very small but there was a special feeling of reverence when we walked the temple grounds. 

On Monday, we visited all the church history sites including, Joseph Smith's house, the Sacred Grove, Hill Cumorah, Peter Whitmer's Farm, and the Grandin Printing Store; where the original Book of Mormon was printed. My favorite place of all was Joseph Smith's house and the Sacred Grove. It felt really weird to step on the same floor that Joseph Smith stepped on.

Praying in the Sacred Grove was such an amazing experience. I could have stayed there for the entire day. 

I am so grateful for the restored Gospel and what I believe in. I am very thankful for all the work that Joseph Smith and the early pioneers did. If you have time to visit or wondering what to do this summer, you should go to the Hill Cumorah Pageant to see the story of the Book of Mormon acted out on a huge set. Since they're celebrating their 75th year anniversary; they made slight adjustments. Let us know if you go; we might see ya there! 

U.S. Botanic Garden

Here is one more place to add to your list when you visit DC. 

The U.S. Botanic Garden, beautiful plant museum with some of the craziest exotic plants on Earth. Since I love beautiful flowers and Eus loves crazy stuff, it worked out perfect for us!

 I saw how a banana and pineapple grow for the first time! 

Baby SJ also enjoyed it a lot!

 Eus's favorite was smelling all the different spices, herbs and exotic plants in the East Wing. 

Woo~ how much I love flowers! During the entire time I was there, I kept thinking to myself how much I'd love to have a garden when we have our own house.

Oh and we definitely loved learning about those carnivorous plants!

I love my life

Our baby SJ reached 100 days last saturday! This is a great deal in the Korean culture because long ago, it was rare for infants to remain alive up to 100 days due to illnesses, premature birth and lack of nutrition. So it was said that if a baby survived the first 100 days, they had a higher chance to survive. To this day in Korea, they celebrate this to honor the old tradition and culture.

When I woke up in the morning for his first feeding I whispered to him "Happy 100th day" and he smiled at me as if he knew it was his day. I gave him the longest kiss and got very emotional. I could not believe how fast the time had gone by. First of all I was just so grateful that he was very healthy for the past 100 days and I could tell he was really happy.  He is very responsive to mommy and daddy. It seems like he recognizes us and loves us more than anybody. He grew so much as well; 17 pounds and 65 cm...WoW! He was placed in the 95th percentile (again) in both height and weight. He is learning a lot as well. The other day when we were at Buy Buy Baby, he reached out tried to grab a toy and he seems to be curious and interested in what we eat, his eyes follow the food and he'll reach out or raise his hand for some. Though he has learned and developed greatly in the past 100 days, we learned so much more from him. He has been such a huge blessing to us. Being parents is foreign to us and we are still new to it, but we just love being parents. We learned to sacrifice, selflessness and to become one family unit. It is true that we don't get to do much with the baby around but the things that we can do, we enjoy very much with the baby. For example, taking family pictures, the pictures look so much better with the baby in it. Now that I have a baby, I have to wake up early morning to feed him so this helped me manage my time better at night and helped me develop better sleeping habits to sleep earlier and wake up earlier leading to a healthier life style. I eat better than I ever did so that I could provide the best breast milk. I have grown spiritually as well. There are so many times that I didn't know what to do with the baby and I prayed and received the perfect answer. I've grown a great testimony and understanding of the power of motherhood and what it means. It is just so amazing to know that Heavenly Father watches over us and will always be there for us; I know I am NEVER alone. I love being a mom. I would never trade any job for this. I am not gonna lie, every time I hear good news from my friends of them getting a job, I think to myself, 'I could've done that too' and get a little discouraged for few seconds but after those short seconds I have no regret with my life right now. I realized everyone has a different purpose in this life and Heavenly Father gave each of us different talents. With those talents you need to fulfill your purpose here on this Earth. You don't have to do certain things to show off to others or do something because everyone else is doing it. I don't have to go and get a job because that is what you did after you graduated from college or attempt to fit into society or satisfy someone. I do what makes me happy, what is right for me, which is being a mom to my baby. I am so glad that I chose to be a mom and I want to be the best mom for my baby. 

Washington Monument

My cute friend Soohyun came to visit us on Saturday. We were still so tired from the Orlando trip and Eus flew in from Utah the night before at 1 am (oh congratulation Jieun!!!)

 When Soohyun came to the door, we were still in our PJ's. Though we didn't make any plans as to what we'd do on Saturday, we didn't need to worry about that because after all, we're in DC! All we needed to do was pick a place and walk around. There are literally hundreds of things to do and see while in the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia). Our pick was the Washington Monument. When we lived in Crystal City, we saw this every day from our window and we still see it daily when we step out of the home. Eus passes this everyday going to and from work, yet we have never actually gone up to it but see it from afar.

DC weather is just absolutely goooooooorgeous! 

And then we walked around the National Mall and didn't forget to take pictures. Thanks to my friend, we got some great pictures of us.

Our chubby SJ looks like his daddy more and more. Even people who walk by tell us "oh, that boy looks just like his daddy!" then I say, "I KNOW!" :) But the funny thing is, daddy doesn't see it. Really Eus????

Florida trip [Day 4,5 &6]

Our fourth day there was a Sunday, it was a nice relaxing sabbath day. Eus went to Titusville in the morning to visit an old friend, when he returned we all went to church and visited the Orlando Florida Temple. It was small but beautiful. SJ fell asleep in the car so I could not walk around the temple but it was nice to even look at it.

Day 5... we have no pictures... reason being... we went to the most amazing outlet mall and we were just so busy looking for amazing deals! hahahahaha.

Day 6, Tuesday, our last day in Orlando. We went shopping again and spent some time with the family again before leaving. 

SJ was SO tired and ready to go back home.

Our first time flying as a family of three was somewhat challenging but very fun! Can't wait for next adventure!!
